MALLAPPALLY BRIDGE

Mallappally Bridge is a historic bridge located across the Manimala River in Mallappally town in Pathanamthitta district. This bridge, which was commissioned in 1954, is the main road connecting the east and west of Mallappally.

Key Features:

History: The foundation stone of the bridge was laid on May 5, 1949 by K.R. Elankath, the then Minister for Development of Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.

Construction: This bridge, which is the foundation stone for the development of Mallappally town, was built half a century ago.

Traffic Problems: Despite its name, 'Valiapalam', due to its age and narrow width, traffic jams are common in the town when large vehicles enter.
